More than 40 cyclists involved in a 600km ride to raise funds for critical cancer care will arrive in Bunbury on Thursday, 4 March, the second day of their four-day journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Red Sky Ride raises money for integrated cancer care charity Solaris Cancer Care, which provides services to support WA cancer patients and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 43 riders will leave the Solaris Cottesloe support centre today (Wednesday 3 March) and are due to arrive at the Bunbury Solaris Cancer Care centre at 2pm tomorrow (4 March).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The riders will travel through the Ferguson Valley for two days before returning to Perth via Bunbury on 6 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Solaris Cancer Care is a community-based healthcare organisation. Its cancer support centres are the first of their kind in Australia and offer support, information, education, and complementary therapies to cancer patients and their primary cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In WA, more than 13,300 people are diagnosed with cancer each year, a disease which causes three in every 10 deaths in the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Solaris delivers $1.74 million of health care services in complementary therapies free each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It receives minimal ongoing financial support from government, relying on the generous support of the WA community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Red Sky Ride has raised more than $4 million in the past 14 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year Solaris delivers $1.74 million worth of health care in complementary therapies free of charge.
